From Guy Monteleone
A little anecdote
On Sept 9, 2012, I ran in my first half marathon in Harrisburg, PA. Brian Hopper was kind enough to join me in this endeavor. Brian and I shared a hotel room the night before the race. Deep in the middle of the night, Brian saw something on the wall. It was pitch black and he did not want to disturb me. Bleary-eyed, he used his cell phone to ascertain if this was a large insect on the wall. He swears this thing was moving...Neither one of us had alot of alcohol to drink pre-race, so I can't explain it.
It turned out not to be some dreaded insect but the sprinkler system for the hotel! Of course this did not adversely affect his time during the race, but was pretty funny. Especially since he did not want to wake anybody up.
Brian Hopper: good natured, considerate. It was a good race, a good time had by all, some nice memories...

Everyone, I need to know who's on Team Hopper! Please email me names, and T-shirt sizes. Who will be running these races with me?
We will be making T-shirts with our logo on them. We will try to get running Tech shirts. I will let you know about finance specifics when I get them. I will be wearing this to all of my races this year. I currently have two races scheduled-
Richmond Va 10K on Saturday April 13, 2013.
Pittsburgh Half Marathon Sunday May 5, 2013.

From Guy Monteleone
This is my first post for our new endeavor. Our team is dedicated to developing our running skills, including races, for the year 2013. We are all active outdoors people. While most of us have run or walked before, Brian Hopper has been a guide to us in the world of competitive running. His support and encouragement have made us better at what we do. It has been fun and exciting trying new things and reaching new heights.
This has been a difficult year for Brian. His parent had to move in with him. As well, Tom Hopper needed a bone marrow transplant. Brian Hopper stepped up to the plate and will be doing this for him on Feb 6, 2013. Brian always seems to do the right thing. Brian is special- he is kind and hard working. He helps all of us see how to be a better Christian in everyday ordinary ways. He is commendable. I am a better person for having known Brian and I thank him for that. He has been helping the Duryea family for years with unheralded effort in masterminding cooking for large groups at holidays and camping events! I just wanted Brian to know that I love him like one of my own brothers! We are running this year in support of you.
Personally I will forever be indebted to Brian for prompting me to consider running longer distances. Me, Mr. Anaerobic, actually running a half marathon! Not only did I run 1 half, but completed my 2nd half marathon in Richmond, Va on Nov 10, 2012! I was very appreciative of his driving all the way to Harrisburg, Pa for my first half. I thought our beer in the fish bowl was great, I was a little leery of spooning...All joking aside, his efforts at joining me in a little race in Harrisburg was greatly appreciated!
We, Team Brian Hopper, are committing our running and racing (and sometimes rehab!) efforts to Brian Hopper in this 2013 year. We thank Brian for all of his love, generosity and kindness and wish him the best 2013 EVER.
We would like to introduce you to Hopper, our mascot and logo. Check him out!!
